Summer 1963. Two cowboys, Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist, meet while waiting in line to be hired by rancher Joe Aguirre. Both aspire to get a stable job, get married and start a family. When Aguirre sends them to herd cattle on majestic Brokeback Mountain, a feeling of camaraderie develops between them that leads to an intimate relationship.
