The premature death of his mother during childbirth, violently snatches Victor Frankenstein from his idyllic life in Geneva. From that day on, the idea of defeating death will be his obsession and, therefore, he decides to study medicine in Ingolstadt. There he meets the sinister Professor Waldman, who is rumored to have spent his youth studying the possibility of creating a human being.
