Owen Suskind is a normal child until he turns three. Then he starts a setback in his development. What starts out as a suspicion on the parents side ends up becoming a desperate reality. Owen is autistic, he stops talking and disconnects from reality. The only thing that keeps him calm is watching Disney cartoon movies with his big brother. When the parents begin to lose hope that the child will regain his speech, suddenly, one day, he expresses a reality from a phrase that is familiar to them. It is a phrase drawn from a movie that child sees. Parents discover that their child can only communicate from the fictitious world he has built in his head, based on Disney tapes. A path of hope opens up that will go far beyond what they could imagine.
