Bridgerton begins in 1813 in London with Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family, in her debut in the competitive marriage market of the London Regency. In the spirit of following in the footsteps of her parents and finding true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem hopeful. But everything begins to fall a part when a diary full of scandals about the high society written by mysterious Lady Whistledown comes to light that slancers Daphne. The entrance on the scene of the rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), the most desired bachelor of the season, is an escape valve for both, when they decide to join a growing battle of wits to evade social expectations about their future.
