Gon Frecks, a 12-year-old boy, lives with his aunt Mito and grandmother on Ballena Island, an orphan of a mother and according to his aunt also as a father. One day Gon is attacked by a forest bear, but he is saved by a hunter who explains that he is looking for his teacher in order to become a hunter, he is the one who tells him that his father Gin is alive.
