May 1940. Winston Churchill (Gary Oldman) becomes a British prime minister at a really crucial moment of World War II, since the Nazis advance unstoppable conquering practically the entire European continent and threatening with an invasion to England. Churchill must then explore the possibility of a peace treaty with Germany, or be faithful to its ideals and fight for the liberation of Europe.
