Loving Vincent

A year after the death of Vincent van Gogh, the postman Roulin asks his son Armand to personally deliver Van Gogh's last letter to his brother, Theo, after his previous attempts to send it to him had failed. Despite not having appreciated Van Gogh and remembering the incident when the deceased mutilated his ear and gave it to a prostitute, Armand accepts it with disgust because his father's affection for the painter... First feature film composed of animated paintings, "Loving Vincent" is a film tribute to Van Gogh in which each picture is a painted on oil picture, as Vincent himself would have painted it. Its 80 minutes of duration are composed of 56,800 photograms that have been painted, one by one, for a large number of excellent painters over several years, all inspired by Van Gogh's style and magisterial art.
